New VACCINE PATENTS FILED!

Our Founder, Keith, has just filed a comprehensive provisional patent for the innovative oral vaccine for immunocontraception and pathogen/disease prevention. This is a great breakthrough as we can now begin the hard work of testing for efficacy and permitting with EPA and USDA-APHIS. Otter Creek Foundation will be contracted by Dakota Research Labs, Inc., to oversee and perform the field and lab testing and data collection. Dakota Research Labs is currently the sole licensee for the vaccines. The vaccines that are patent pending include: PhysaliaR^TM for immunocontraception, and PhysaliaD^TM for pathogen defense. Each vaccine model will be species specific and will have environmental controls to ensure no impact on off target species or the environment. The initial immunocontraception vaccines to be tested include PhysaliaR-S^TM for Feral Hogs, PhysaliaR-F^TM for Feral domestic cats, and PhysaliaR-M^TM for mice and rats. Additional variants include PhysaliaR-K9^TM for dogs and other canines, and PhysaliaR-I^TM for reptiles – specifically the Florida invasive Iguana.

The oral vaccines for cats support the current efforts to limit the reproduction of feral cats in urban areas and cities. This is a world-wide issue with Trap-Neuter-Release efforts spending millions each year and only scratching the surface of the population explosion. The PhysaliaR-F^TM vaccine can be combine with the PhysaliaD-F^TM pathogen package to provide defense against the primary feline diseases.

The oral immunocontraception vaccine for mice and rats PhysaliaR-M^TM is designed to support rodent population control in urban areas and cities where current population control effort include poisoning and trapping. These efforts risk disease transmission and fail to limit the population of these fast breeding creatures.

The suite of Pathogen and Disease prevention oral vaccines is extensive. PhysaliaD^TM is a modular oral vaccine platform that is species specific. PhysaliaD-S-BSV^TM is a package that is designed to defend against Swine Brucellosis Suis. This is a crippling disease that is rampant amongst feral hogs. This disease is transferable to humans, domestic animals and livestock. We hope this vaccine will prevent the crippling and suffering that Gimpy, Brownie and Seamus currently go through. This package can also be used for other swine pathogens.

PhysaliaD-R-RABV/CDV/CPV^TM is a combination package for defense of Rabies, Canine Distemper Virus, and Canine Parvo Virus for Raccoons and small mammals. Although there are oral rabies vaccines, they are primarily genetic modified viruses (not pathogenic) which is becoming a concern for wildlife management agencies. This vaccine package is designed to be ingested and is species specific withe environmental safety concerns. This is essential a dried protein and not a risk for genetic modification in the environment. The package allows for individual defense against these and other pathogens or combination as a mixture or as a designed package.

PhysaliaD-K9-RABV/CDV/CPV^TM is similar to the Raccoon pathogen package but is designed for feral dogs and other canines as a defense for Rabies, Canine Distemper Virus, and Canine Parvo Virus.

The big package for PhysaliaD^TM is for Felines. A multi-disease package of PhysaliaD-F-FPV^TM for Panleukopenia Virus (FPV), PhysaliaD-F-FHV1^TM for Feline Herpesvirus 1 (FHV1), PhysaliaD-F-FeLV^TM for Feline Leukemia Virus, and PhysaliaD-F-FIV^TM for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) will be tested as soon as possible.
